Qingdao Expat Group is a community for expats, by expats. It continues to grow witheach passing year and is currently represented by members, accompanying spouses and children from 56 countries! We aim to create a mutual understanding of Chinese and Western cultures and also hope to help new Expats arriving in Qingdao to settle in more comfortably by frequently organising events such as balls and dances, dinners..

  • Zhongshan Park

    This is the largest park in Qingdao. It holds, periodically-particularly around national holidays, fantastic colourful displays attracting visitors. Within the park there is a small zoo. During the peak period they provide bird and dog shows. There are also fun rides for the young. You may also find a chairlift to another part of the park, a botanical garden and more garden area to stroll around. Drink and snack stands allow you to spend hours here.   • TV Sightseeing Tower

    You can approach this by car or on foot from the north side of Zhongshan Park. Once you have entered the tower, which is 348 meters above sea level, you will find different platforms. The highest level is a circular viewpoint, giving you the chance to walk around and see Qingdao at all angles. At a level below you may eat in the restaurant. There is a small fee to pay for entering the whole tower.
  • No. 2 Beach and Badaguan

    This is a very attractive beach backed by the trees within the Badaguan area. This beach is maintained well, kept clean and there are showers plus changing rooms. You can hire beach umbrellas, inflatable and beach chairs. It is suitable for families.
  • No. 1 Beach

    This is a very large beach offering many water sports, such as floating tandem cycles; jet skis, para sailing over the sea, wind surfing and speedboats. It is a very popular beach, attracting huge crowds. Shower facilities and changing rooms are available, plus the usual beach chairs for hire. There’s plenty of opportunity to buy drinks and snacks.
  • Qingdao Pier

    Made famous for being on the label of Tsingtao Beer, this old pier stretches out to sea and is accessible from the pavement along number 6 Beach.
  • Tianhou Temple

    Just to the east of Qingdao Pier you will find this ancient temple. After paying a small fee, you may step inside to feel the peace and essence of their beliefs. There is a large wishing tree, where you may tie a ribbon and make a wish. Incense sticks are available for visitors and the chance to pay respect to the images. Often there are local arts and crafts on view in small side stalls.
  • Qingdao Polar Ocean World

    Here are housed several bottle-nosed North Pacific dolphins, Californian sea lions, and harbour seals. They can perform 20 wonderful programs under good training. It is located at 60 Donghai East Road, Tel: 8588-2373. You can take bus 317 along the coastal road. There are 4 shows a day during July and August. Tickets for the show alone cost 50 RMB.
  • Rain Forest Valley Ecological Garden

    This is located on the Laoshan Road, about 20 minutes from Surf Plaza, in the valley of Dadou Ravine. Cherishing animals and encouraging protection of the environment are the key purposes to this park. Animal performances are often held here.
