This is probably the hospital used by most foreigners. On the second floor you may register and wait just a short time (even without an appointment) to be seen by one of their general practitioners. There is one part-time American doctor and some Korean, plus Chinese. Within the hospital there are specialists and services you may need thereafter. Costs are very reasonable. They even have a dental clinic here, but expect to find many people within the working room. They are thorough and do perform good work (perhaps a little different from practices back home- but skilled, nevertheless.)

This is best for the orthodontic work required; this being their specialized area. They have two clinics, one near May 4th Square and another to the east of the city. They are frequently used by foreigners. Prices do resemble those in the west.

This establishment is exactly what you hope for, and it is maintained and managed very well. The interior is very stylish and relaxing, offering the client a soothing room to sit and drink tea, either before or after treatment. One may choose from a wide range of facials and body massages to suit your need. Life slows down here; you are welcome to take your time. There are small rooms to receive clients, either with others or more private. Calming music and very pleasant staff make you feel special. Both men and women are catered for. Appointments are not necessary, but you may.

You may indulge yourself in a thorough foot massage. The treatment lasts for about 1 hour and 20 minutes, beginning with a bucket of relaxing solution to soak your feet. Meanwhile your shoulders, arms and hands are attended to. The feet are given a full massage, with pedicure care offered. Finally, before the socks and shoes are replaced, you receive a neck and back massage whilst seated. Excellent value for money, with a daytime fee of about 40 rmb and 50 rmb in the evening.

A trip to this hairdresser is always fun! You will receive a full head massage at the basin during the shampoo stage, plus a mini facial. But, it doesn’t stop there. You are invited to a seat to receive a shoulder, neck, arm and hand massage. Finally (!) you are passed to the hairdresser who will cut, style, or simply dry your hair. Perms and colouring are also available. It is very reasonably priced. No appointment needed.
